U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan -

The Department of Defense has identified 4,460 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war and 1,636 who have died as a part of the Afghan war and related operations. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans recently:

Iraq

NIELSON, Matthew G., 27, Capt., Army; Jefferson, Iowa; Second Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry.

TENNEY, Robert G. Jr., 29, Specialist, Army; Warner Robins, Ga.; Second Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry.

VAN CAMP, David E., 29, Capt., Army; Wheeling, W.Va.; Second Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry.

Afghanistan

FROKJER, Chad D., 27, Sgt., Marines; Maplewood, Minn.; First Marine Division.

WATERS, James A., 21, Pfc., Army; Cloverdale, Ind.; 10th Mountain Division.
