Guilty Until Proven Guilty - By Philip Walker | Foreign Policy

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein sits alone in the defendants' cage during cross-examination in his trial held in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone on April 5, 2006. He was sentenced to death by hanging, after being found guilty of crimes against humanity for the murder of 148 Iraqi Shiites in the town of Dujail in 1982, an attack in retaliation for an assassination attempt against him. Hussein was executed on Dec. 30, 2006.
