The Department of Defense has identified 1,637 American service members who have died as a part of the Afghan war and related operations. It confirmed the death of the following American yesterday:
GARCIA, Michael J., 27, Staff Sgt., Army; Bossier City, La.; 63rd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, 20th Support Command
